I have a Bachelor of Science in Architecture. Our field isn't doing all that well right now, though. A lot of the buildings being built right now are just reusing the same designs over and over again, so they can save on the costs of hiring an architect. All they need is a site engineer to adapt existing plans to new sites, something they can easily do without our help. That's why you seen a lot of neighborhoods in the US where all the houses look nearly identical. You might see one with the garage on the left, or one with brick instead of siding, to try and make each look different, but in the end, it's the same thing over and over. Same with other buildings. A lot of the schools that have been built in the area I live look exactly the same, the only real difference being slightly different colors of brick and weathering on some of the older buildings. All the office and government buildings, too.
